The Basics of Sheet Metal Part Design

Regardless of part geometry, several considerations must be made when designing sheet metal parts given that wall thickness must remain uniform throughout the component. As such, certain guidelines should be followed when designing sheet metal parts. In this presentation, we’ll examine how to design several common features found on sheet metal parts, including reliefs, offsets, holes, slots, and hems while keeping these guidelines in mind.
